Peace Forum

Heiwa Fōramu

Founded in 1999, the Peace Forum is a large anti-revision, peace-seeking forum that publicizes anti-revision meetings, demonstrations, books, and articles. Stating the four positions of being anti-nuclear, for peace, for respect for human rights, and for environmental protection, the forum also addresses the following issues: US bases in East Asia and Okinawa, dispatching Self-Defense Forces troops abroad, historical issues, and discrimination against minorities in Japanese society.

Their website provides their statements, annual movement policies, and video reports on their demonstrations. The forum released a statement to oppose the reform bill for the national referendum law, which was approved in the House of Representatives in May 2021; the bill was enacted next moth. The statement argued that it is too early to start discussing each constitutional clause draft because the national referendum law still has too many problems to operate.
