Fujin Minshu Kurabu (Fumin)

Fujin Minshu Kurabu (Fumin)

Fujin Minshu Kurabu (abbreviated Fumin) was originally founded in 1946 by women, including famous proletarian literature writer Yuriko Miyamoto. After several splits and renamings, this group officially renamed themselves “Fujin Minshu Kurabu (婦人民主クラブ)” again to mark the 60th anniversary of the foundation in 2006.

Since 1946, this group has worked on the peace movement and opposed constitutional revision. The group's website contains information about their activities, such as group statements and event information.

Subcommittee on the Constitution

Fumin has several subcommittees on specific issues, one of which specializes on the constitution. This group holds seminars about the constitution and organizes anti-constitutional revision demonstrations. On their website, the “Subcommittee Activities (部会の活動)” link provides information about their committee activities; here is a page for the constitution subcommittee.
